Annual update + birthday details Well, its that time of year again. Coincidently enough the next Eddies night falls on th eve of my 32nd birthday (ouch - hate saying that) Plan will be drinks at Scruffy's from about 8pm and then onto more at The Newt where Eddies is now at around 10:30)
MIght as well do a mini update while I'm here. NIN gig was great. Although I probably enjoyed the introduction to Ladytron more than NIN themselves. So much so that I had to buy the 2 CDs available at the gig - bad idea to collect ticket money on the gig night. P.S. Reminder to self - never overbuy tickets - it always backfires. No other gigs on the horizon :(
Finally had a guy around to measure my kitchen for a nice new re-fit - hopefully the quote will come within budget.
Still haven't recovered well enough to finish the loft insulation I started a fortnight ago - leaving both spare bedrooms in disarray.
Well, back to 24. Hope to see some of ya on Saturday.
Dom.

Ooops
Well thanks to Steve I now know why I didn't get much response to my birthday plans. I selected 'Private' instead of 'friends only'. Opps. Anyway, thanks to all who came out - better than I thought. And thanks to those who WOULD have come out if they'd actually known (chance to claim credit for doing absolutely nothing - lol) Today I will be carrying on watch The Cure - Greatest Hits DVD as well as nursing a moderate hangover before (and probably while) I go out, buy a microwave and have a nice slap up steak with my mum. Home DIY can wait till tomorrow. Everyone have a great weekend!!! ADDENDUM: Yay!!! Found the secret videos on the Cure DVD - and one is the Pictures of You vid :) Excellent song and criminally missing from the GH CD. Everything Sucks!!!
Well today's a bit sucky. Just found out this evenings plans are cancelled - after letting go a potential date. How sucky. Wish people would say in advance. Will be losing £300 a month from my birthday too due to loss of tennant. Nice to have found out in the post rather than in person too. Still I'll be glad not to have to clean the bathroom everytime its left in a mess. At least I have some post to open. Maybe I'll even get some painting done Monday. If I haven't killed myself. Yours bored and depressed. Current Mood: depressedCurrent Music: None :( |

It's been a while
Well, I'm back. It has indeed been a while but then I've had nothing interesting to say. Why am I back? Well boredom maybe, the suggestion that xdiax had left some wise words. Also the fact that The Wonder Stuff are back with a new album and touring!!!! Yay!!!! Managed to catch a 6 song set at HMV last Monday. Consisting of: It's Yer Money (from the debut - Eight Legged Groove Machine) Blah Blah, Lah Di Dah Last Second of the Minute The Sun Goes Down on Manor Road Circlesquare (single only) Mission Drive (from Never Loved Elvis) Darn good set and all the new songs still have the quintessential Wonder Stuff qualities. Anyone who wants to see them at JB's in Dudley next Friday, 3rd March let me know here. But late but hey. Still wondering what the heck to do tonight... Looks like I've been deleted off a couple of peoples ljs - oh well no real loss there. Until next time... Current Mood: apatheticCurrent Music: The Wonder Stuff - Mission Drive (Live) |

Amazing!!!
Well, I usually don't bother updating as most of my recent time has been spent waiting for my f***ing bathroom to be sorted. Fingerers crossed for it completely finished by next weekend. Anyway, the long awaited Senser gig was at Eddies last night. Huge crew of big_fish_deli, frodo_baker (shit, when did he get an lj?), limpfan2005, lardius, nap1st, mund, scarlets_walk_x, potguns, Will and myself met at The Gallows. Frodo disappeared off as we headed to Eddies. Two support acts preceeded the main event. The first, to be blunt, was total shit (nuff said). The second was pretty good though, not unlike Senser or maybe Faith No More. Then came the main course, and they were pretty damn amazing. Small venue and audience added to the excellent performance. Had to borrow the cash I'd just paid Geoff for the ticket so I could get some of the Senser stuff I didn't have. Go buy!!!!Eddies downstairs rounded off the evening. ellwaffles, sazabaza, just_jazz and tawdryfilth were there for the fun. Eventually drunkeness and unconciousness took over - thankfully the latter only when I'd reached the safety of my bed. Feeling a bit hungover - hoping it'll pass before meeting people at the mailbox for a get together. Current Mood: bouncyCurrent Music: Senser - Formula Milk |

A weekend at the seaside!!
Opted to spend the weekend traveling down to Brighton to attend the 1st birthday of my nephew, Thomas Sean Adams - Tom for short. Haven't seen him since xmas when he was still unable to crawl. I suppose I shouldn't expect too much at 3 months. Now he's out and about walking, albeit with the aid of a zimmer frame - I thought we were supposed to end up with these AFTER a prosperous life, not before its begun. Anyway, after a 3 hour trip we arrived in Brighton and met said nephew, brother, sister in law, sister in law's sister and parents. Took Tom for a 'walk' (or push really) to the beach before returning. Chatted until the party started, ate, chatted more, entertained two 1 year olds (kids don't really seem to interact at that age - maybe a male territorial thing) Quite jealous at some of the stuff he got. A really cool JCB truck and trailer. Personally would have prefered the JCB digger but thats for 2+. Oh well, maybe next year :) Got a relatively early night Saturday but slept crap and so felt crap in the morning. To help I headed into town via the beach for some comfort shopping. But found little to buy - they didn't even have the huge 70x100cm frames at Athena (and its not as if there are any local stores) More baby entertaining was required after a nice roast beef lunch including vagely helping in a wash before bedtime. Headed home at 7:20 and got in around 10:30. Messed around for a bit before the need to sleep overtook me. After that I feel I need a weekend of casual drinking (is there such a thing?) Now, must try and catch Serenity this week... Current Mood: okayCurrent Music: None :( |

Take the quiz: "What kind of Goth are you?"
Antiquity GothAntiquity Goth...Inside you feel sad, and don't know why. Most of all, you would have loved to live a few centuries ago, when girls were holy and men had to fight in the war. You love to read and write. People like you for you calmness. Current Mood: boredCurrent Music: Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds |

That Friday Feeling
End of a short work week - I love bank holidays (especially with the council being only 3 work days long) Attempt at conserving money failed when I was persuaded to go to the Flapper last night (not inflating xdiax's ego by saying it was at all due to her - lol) Lack of food during the day meant I was feeling a little rough by the end of it all. Plus challenging Clare to drink the bottle of wine faster was a mistake when I had to accept my own challenge and failed. Bottle was won as third prize in the quiz (where were you Steve? We needed you) Due to excess alcohol and lack of nearby food places after 11pm I headed off to get a kebab from Big Johns and then to the bus stop and homeward bound. Rubbish nights sleep. Couldn't have overslept if I wanted to :( Fairly boring day at work mostly spend scowering the net (again) trying to get some money for ebay items and now waiting till 3:45 when I can head home. Tonight will be spent in Stratford when I finally get to go to the RSC again to watch Twelfth Night (for an affordable price AND decent seats). As You Like It on Monday too. Yay!!! I'm sure I had some plans for tomorrow evening but it just seems to have slipped my mind... Current Mood: complacentCurrent Music: Last Thing was Lacuna Coil - yay!!! |

Friends meme
Why is it I can't seem to stop doing these silly things? I guess it wastes alot of time at work though. I think I broke the thing anyway. 00100% isn't exactly a percentage. I'd like to think the first two 0's are the mistakes - not the latter two. Current Mood: boredCurrent Music: None :( |

LACUNA COIL - SPREADING THE WORD
Just passing on the word of strangegothdude about the Lacuna Coil gig at Wolverhampton Wufrun on 31st October. I have 4 tickets. Claire's swiped one (she did get me onto hearing about the gig in the first place) I believe limpfan2005 wanted one (please confirm). So that leaves one more. Please indicate interest. If there's enough we can organise getting another group. Tickets were £13 (inc booking fee and proportion of postage cost) Alternatively you can get your own ticket here. Argh!!!! More more more bloody memes!!!!
So much for my mid year resolution of no memes. I nicked this from xdiax in an attempt to check her identity (hate adding people when I'm not sure who they are) Liked the answers (but I'm sure they're complementary for everyone) Current Mood: complacentCurrent Music: None :( Work sucks |

Sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sleep now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another party no no - don't attempt to sleep while people are still awake - they tend to try and draw lipstick all over you. Left just_jazz / ashe_black / tawdryfilth's house at silly o'clock. Waited about half an hour for the 11 with cuecat. Just missed the very infrequent 50 when I got to Kings Heath so decided to walk the rest of the way home. A nice comfortable 25 minutes walk. Quite plesant. A good night was had but I'm sure I'm getting on (at least) one person's nerves for persistent chatting. Must stop that. Hope just_jazz, urshulgi and the others enjoy The Witches of Eastwick (too much Cher for my liking but Michelle Pfeiffer - mmmmmmmm) I'm off to bed for as long as I can. If anyone needs me (yeah right) I'll be comatose. Current Mood: tiredCurrent Music: Epica - Solidarity Ground |

Time to relax!!!
Nice short day today. Finally (after 11 days) lugged my amp back to Richer Sounds as it apparently doesn't have a 'pre amp' - like what the f*** is that supposed to mean? It's an amp. It's what amps do - AMPLIFY. Am I missing something? Anyway instead of buying a stupid £20 little box and taking up yet another socket I opted to return the old one and spend another £40 getting a PROPER amp. And boy does it work nicey :) Cranked up Sisters - This Corrosion and Ghost Dance - Last Train. Fab!!!!! The only annoyance about today is I checked my bank / access card and I'm about a grand down having bought way too much stuff last month. Ooops. Oh well. Note to self : Do not stay up until 7:00am on a night prior to organising a bbq. Not a good plan. Feel okay at the moment but dunno how I can possibly last. Time will tell. I blame everyone for providing a fun night and limitless conversation. More of the same tonight I hope :) Hope to see you all later. Current Mood: bouncyCurrent Music: Lacuna Coil - Comalies |
